China continues exports of sanctioned machinery to North Korea
Though the volumes are much smaller than their pre-sanctions levels
China continued shipping sanctioned industrial items and machinery to North Korea in March, though in much-reduced quantities than prior to December’s UN Resolution 2397.
The latest resolution prohibited countries from exporting all machinery and industrial equipment to North Korea, products which were formerly among the DPRK’s most demanded commodities.
“All Member States shall prohibit the direct or indirect supply, sale or transfer to the DPRK … of all industrial machinery (HS codes 84 and 85),” paragraph 7 of the resolution reads.
