Central Pyongyang high-rises remain in unfinished state, photos show
Months' long delays in prime area could be due to impact of sanctions on private investors
A network of partially-completed high-rise buildings surrounding Pyongyang’s iconic Kim Il Sung square remain unfinished, June photos show, indicating a construction stall that appears to have plagued the site since at least February.
The street-level photos show no cladding to have been added to the exposed concrete bases of at least three of the largest buildings in the multi-cluster site, even when compared to October 2017-dated Google Earth satellite imagery.
