South Korea’s Lee Jae-myung administration released a comprehensive policy document on Thursday that formalizes its strategy for seeking North Korean denuclearization and “peaceful co-existence with Pyongyang.”

The document outlines 123 policy tasks under five national goals and 23 strategies, with eight of the tasks directly addressing DPRK policy, the U.S.-ROK alliance and related security issues.

The administration notably pledged to complete the transfer of wartime operational control from the U.S. to South Korea during Lee’s term, embracing a proposal put forward by his defense minister pick in July that aims to increase
