North Korea appears to be carrying out the final stages of construction for the long-delayed Wonsan Kalma beach resort ahead of its scheduled grand opening next month, despite lingering questions about the envisioned clientele for the expansive tourism zone.

Analysis of high-resolution satellite imagery by SI Analytics, detailed in a new report, shows that workers are concentrating on completing road access at the east coast complex, widening and paving an existing thoroughfare connecting the resort to the city of Wonsan over three weeks from April to May.
