Seoul adds new sanctions on North Korea

New measures go beyond UN designations, tighten maritime and trade rules

South Korea enacted a new set of autonomous sanctions against the DPRK on Tuesday, building on last week’s resolution from the UN Security Council.

Seoul added a number of individuals and companies to the list proposed by the UN, while also tightening maritime and trade loopholes.
