News New North Korean airfield adds solar panels: UPDATEDNewest military airfield in nation's capital likely used by senior regime elites
Update 26.01.2016: This story was updated to include analysis from Curtis Melvin, saying the new structures are greenhouses, not solar panels. North Korea added what looks to be a large solar panel array to a recently constructed military airfield in Pyongyang, updated satellite imagery shows. The two new panel arrays sit just to the south of the new airfield and measure 50 meters in length. They were installed between August and October last year. The airfield is just one in a string of recently completed construction projects which are partly powered by some form of renewable energy. “Kim Jong © Korea Risk Group. All rights reserved. |
