Chinese delegations not invited to Kim Jong Il commemoration

South Korean's presence due Kim Jong Il-Kim Dae Jung's relationship; impending breakthrough not expected

North Korea did not invite a representative of China to the ceremony honoring Kim Jong Il on the third anniversary of the late leader's passing.

The commemoration for Kim, who died at end-2011 after serving as Supreme Leader for 17 years, included three minutes of silence at the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun in Pyongyang.
