North Korea fires ballistic missiles into the East Sea: South Korea’s JCS

The two rounds of missile launches follow North Korea’s test-fire of long-range cruise missiles over the weekend

North Korea fired two rounds of ballistic missiles into the East Sea on Wednesday afternoon, South Korea’s Joint Chief of Staff (JCS) said shortly after the launches.

Later in the day, JCS said the projectiles were “short-range ballistic missiles” launched from the Yangdok area of South Phyongan Province in central North Korea. The DPRK fired the missiles around 12:34 p.m. and 12:39 p.m., according to the South Korean military.
