North Korea accuses the UN of ‘unfairness’ and human rights ‘meddling’

In a long-winded statement, the DPRK lambasts Japan, the U.N. Security Council and those suspicious of its space program

A high-level North Korean official condemned the United Nations for “meddling” in human rights issues on Thursday, stating that the group has “double standards and unfairness” that “should no longer be tolerated.”

North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement on Thursday evening, just one day after the U.N. renewed a North Korean human rights resolution for the 16th year in a row and less than two months after the DPRK came under fire for its lethal shooting of a South Korean government worker.
