North Korea slams ‘The Mole’ documentary as ‘nonsense’ and demands raw footage

North Korea’s Embassy in Stockholm is calling out the documentary series in a privately circulated note seen by NK News

North Korea is accusing a Danish filmmaker of “fabricating” a documentary series that shows DPRK officials facilitating weapons and drug sales to undercover actors, calling it an attempt to “level up the atmosphere” of international sanctions.

North Korea’s Embassy in Stockholm said that director Mads Brügger's “The Mole” is “absolutely against the truth” and “nonsense,” according to a statement privately circulated to local sources and seen by NK News. The DPRK Embassy in Sweden also demanded that the filmmakers release the full, unedited footage — the series first aired less than a week ago, on Oct. 11.
