US sanctions two Iranian officials for North Korea missile cooperation

Officials accused of working with North Korea on a space vehicle launch, but details of the cooperation are vague

Two senior officials working at an Iranian research organization allegedly played a “key role” in facilitating missile-related cooperation between Iran and North Korea, the U.S. Department of State said on Monday.

As a result, the two officials from Shahid Haj Ali Movahed Research Center (SHIG) were added to unilateral U.S. sanctions lists for their connections to North Korea’s heavily-sanctioned missile program.
