North Korea continuing ‘intense’ development of ballistic missiles, nukes: UN

U.N. panel report details ongoing sanctions evasion, illicit exports of coal by Pyongyang

North Korea this year continued “intense” efforts to push ahead with the development of ballistic missiles and nuclear weapons, a panel of U.N. experts has concluded in a report seen by NK News this week.

The report by the U.N. Panel of Experts (PoE) on DPRK sanctions, set to be released in September, stressed that Pyongyang has moved ahead with the production of highly enriched uranium and construction of an experimental light water reactor, despite previous agreements to work towards denuclearization.
