Following a spate of recent missile tests by North Korea and Pyongyang's concurrent decision to skip this week's ASEAN regional forum, a U.S. official on Friday said the DPRK's strategy was “not working” and would only serve to isolate it further.
Speaking to press as part of a background briefing at the conclusion of the ASEAN forum in Bangkok, an unnamed senior State Department official described North Korea’s recent tests as “provocations” that inspired allies, as well as Russia and China, to unite with the U.S. in opposition to the moves.
