U.S. sanctions foreign firms, individual over illicit North Korean trade

One Chinese, Singaporean, and Russia-based firm designated along with a Russian national

The U.S. Department of the Treasury on Wednesday unveiled new sanctions on three foreign entities and a Russian individual for facilitating illicit shipments on behalf of North Korea.

The designations are the second such measures since the June 12 meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump and according to the press release, were imposed to continue the implementation of existing UN and U.S. sanctions.
