Three U.S. supercarriers to conduct joint drills in waters off Korean peninsula

Exercise aimed at testing navies' ability to “repulse any kind of provocations by North Korea"

Three U.S. nuclear-powered aircraft carrier strike groups are scheduled to conduct joint drills with the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) over the next few days in a show of force against North Korea, South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said on Friday.

The four-day military exercise will begin off the east coast of South Korea on Saturday.
