“No point” in holding emergency Security Council meeting: Nikki Haley

U.S. Ambassador to UN says meeting on DPRK missile test would lead to "nothing of consequence"

The U.S. will not seek an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in response to Friday's test of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) by North Korea, the country's ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley said on Sunday night.

Haley said in a statement that despite reports to the contrary, no emergency meeting would be held at the UNSC as Washington did not believe it would produce results.
