A North Korean tech company has launched a new navigation application for smartphone users, local outlet Arirang-Meari reported on Tuesday.

The Pyongyang Guide (An-nae, or 평양안내 in Korean) 1.0 provides information on the location and contact details of various shops and scientific, educational, athletic, cultural, and health institutions, as well as science and technology news and TV schedules, according to the article.

Reports said the application was developed by the local Sangpyong information technology exchange center.

Another state-run website, Tongil Voice, described Pyongyang Guidance 1.0 as a “friendly fellow traveler and guide to users,” in an
