Chong Chon Gang passes through Panama Canal

The North Korean vessel caught smuggling weapons from Cuba last year allowed through Panama Canal

The Chong Chon Gang, the North Korean vessel caught attempting to move weapons from Cuba to North Korea in July 2013, was allowed to pass through the Panama Canal on Monday, on its return journey to the DPRK.

The vessel arrived at the Atlantic side of the canal on March 26, where it was thoroughly searched by the Panamanian authorities, who found no further contraband aboard.
