North Korea launches three SCUD-variant missiles

SCUDs fire between 500-600km, a distance far enough to cover from Seoul to Busan

North Korea launched three short-range missiles, presumably Scuds, from its east coast early Tuesday morning, the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a report by the Chosun Ilbo.

The launches, which took place around 5:45 a.m. to 6:40 a.m. Korean Standard Time, come following Washington and Seoul's announcement last week that allies would install a THAAD anti-missile battery in South Korea, something the North later said would become a possible target for a nuclear strike.
