Gimpo residents oppose Christmas tree near N.Korea

Christian organizations aim at Gospel, while local government and residents appeal anxiety

Citizens of Gimpo, South Korea announced their opposition to erecting a lit Christmas tree on Aegi Hill at the DMZ at a Wednesday press conference.

The Alliance of Democratic Civil Organizations of Gimpo on Wednesday emphasized the life and safety of the residents, while criticizing some Christian organizations. The Christian Democratic Party recently applied for the establishment of a “light tower” and plan to have worship on December 20.
