U.S. again says no plans to aid N. Korea during drought

State Department says number of conditions must be fulfilled to receive aid, including transparency

The U.S. on Monday again said that it has no plans to send aid to the North for the purpose of drought relief.

Catina Adams, spokesperson for the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of East Asian and Pacific Affairs told Voice of America that they are aware of the drought, which North Korean state media has called the nation’s worst in 100 years. The United States is deeply concerned about the welfare of the North’s citizens, Adams added.
