FAO issues new warning on North Korean drought impact

Estimated crop production down from previous year as dry weather continues

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has warned that continued drought conditions could result in significantly worsening food security for North Koreans in a report published on Wednesday.

The update to the Global Information and Early Warning System on food and agriculture (GIEWS) includes revised crop production forecasts that show significant reductions on yields from the previous year.
