North Korea in space: The prestigious frontier

With no technical barriers to another satellite launch, Pyongyang likely to pursue its space program

North Korean media has increased coverage of its controversial space program, with a recent announcement of a newly built satellite control center signalling its intentions to continue launches in the face of UN sanctions.

The DPRK is not prohibited from putting satellites in orbit, though launching rockets capable of doing so also provides data for its Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) programs.
