Experts consider comparison of Iran-DPRK nuclear programs misleading

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invoked the failure to prevent North Korean nuclear proliferation as evidence for a harder line against Iran during his speech to U.S. Congress Tuesday.

Netanyahu has spoken out against the current negotiations between the Obama administration and Iran. At issue is the extensive sanctions regime against Tehran, which Netanyahu opposes lessening for a variety of reasons, including Iran’s threatening and inflammatory rhetoric toward Israel.
