China objects, calls UNSC improper place for human rights discussions

North Korea’s human rights record has been adopted as an agenda item at United Nations Security Council over objections from China and Russia.

The 15-member Security Council adopted the North’s rights record on its agenda by a vote of 11-2, with Beijing and Moscow voting against and two other nations abstaining.
