North Korea calls for UN Security Council reforms

Call comes amid increased pressure over North Korea's human rights record

North Korea has called for reforms to the current United Nations Security Council system in an article published in the Rodong Sinmun Wednesday, amid the beginning of the UN General Assembly’s (UNGA) 69th session.

In the article titled "Urgent Issue - Reform of UN Security Council" the author says that the council and its mechanisms are being used by the United States to pursue a policy of "world domination" and that the council should "no longer be controlled by specified countries".
