DPRK foreign minister meets Myanmar president, defense minister

High-level meeting in Southeast Asian country signals ongoing bilateral, possible military ties

North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Su Yong met with Myanmar President Thein Sein and Defense Minister Wai Lwin Monday during a visit to the Southeast Asian country, according to state media reports.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported that, during the meeting, Thein Sein voiced his support for North Korea’s foreign and domestic policies and encouraged further bilateral relations.
