Interview: John Sweeney reflects on going undercover in North Korea

A year on, the BBC reporter defends decision to go undercover in the DPRK

Last year, John Sweeney, then a broadcast journalist for the investigative programme "Panorama", entered North Korea with his camera crew  to expose a version of North Korea usually shielded from the outside world.

A year after his controversial visit, the NK News podcast interviewed Sweeney on the subject of the resulting TV episode and book, "North Korea Undercover", with focus on the journalist’s motives as a “warrior for the open society”.
