South Korean President Park Geun-hye asked Chinese President Xi Jinping to convince Pyongyang to not go through with a possible fourth nuclear test during their phone conversation on April 23.
According to a press release sent out by the Blue House on April 23, Park spoke with Xi over the phone that morning, expressing her gratitude for China’s efforts at preventing additional North Korean nuclear tests. She also asked that Xi keep up such efforts, as North Korea’s nuclear test could provoke other East Asian nations, prevent the resumption of Six-Party Talks and hurt inter-Korean relations.
