South Korean railway head visits Pyongyang

Railway conference in Pyongyang raises questions on resuming trans-Korean and trans-Siberian rail talks.

In a rare visit, the head of South Korea's state-run railway company is scheduled to arrive in Pyongyang Tuesday to attend a meeting with the Organization for Co-Operation between Railways (OSJD), Yonhap reported on Monday.

President and CEO of the South's Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) Choi Yeon-hye, along with four other officials, is reported to have arrived Beijing on Monday to obtain visas from the North Korean embassy. The group will then continue to Pyongyang, possibly by train.
