Sankei Shimbun reported today that North Korea fired three short-range ballistic missiles in the East Sea on the 11th.The newspaper, citing multiples Japanese government sources, said it appeared to be an improved model launch test.The newspaper said that the fired missile was the mobile launch KN02 (range approximately 120km), an improved version of the Soviet SS21. North Korea last tested missiles on the day of the announcement of Kim Jong Il’s death in December 19th launched two short-range missiles. (The Daily NK)
